Arsenal are in talks to land Corinthians' emerging star Maycon, according to reports in his native Brazil.
As talkSPORT told you in January, the Gunners have been keeping close tabs on the 20-year-old, who has become a mainstay in the Brazilian club's midfield.
And now, according to UOL Esporte, Arsenal have now held 'conversations' regarding a potential summer swoop for the central midfielder.
Both Shakhtar Donetsk and Napoli are also very keen on luring the youngster to Europe but it appears as though Arsenal have made the first move.
But there could be a problem obtaining a work permit for Maycon, who is yet to appear for Brazil's national team.
They may see the switch as a long-term plan similar to that of Joel Campbell or Carlos Vela , who were signed and then loaned out to central European clubs.
