Tottenham are ready to step up their interest in teen star Jann-Fiete Arp.
The 18-year-old has burst onto the scene in Germany with Hamburg this season and he has been tipped for a big future.
The striker became the first player born in the 21st century to score in the Bundesliga when he netted against Hertha Berlin back in October, just weeks after he returned from the Under-17 World Cup having bagged five goals for Germany.
Arp has been scouted by Tottenham several times over the past few months and he has confessed he models himself on Harry Kane.
“He plays the way I want to play,” Arp told UEFA’s official website.
“He's pacy and very comfortable with and without the ball. It's difficult to stop him. You need to pay attention for 90 minutes because he can score at any time.”
And now Spurs are ready to give Arp the chance to learn from his idol by making a move for him this summer.
Tottenham are prepared to firm up their interest with a formal bid when the transfer window opens, but they need to move fast.
German champions Bayern Munich are also tracking Arp and are tempted to make an offer too.
