Five reasons Tottenham fans should be cheerful despite Champions League exit

Tottenham Hotspur fans will still be feeling the pangs of pain after watching their side dumped out of the Champions League by Juventus.

Spurs put in two admirable performances the last-16 clash but it wasn’t enough as Massimiliano Allegri’s tactical nous changed the game at Wembley, leading to a 2-1 loss on the night and a 4-3 defeat on aggregate.

A double salvo from Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala left Mauricio Pochettino’s men punch drunk and unable to respond, despite them taking the lead through Heung-Min Son.

But rather than dwell in the doldrums, supporters must, like the players, rally quickly and prepare for the Premier League run-in and an FA Cup quarter-final with Swansea City .

And, Juventus reality check aside, it’s important the Spurs faithful remember they have plenty of reasons to be cheerful in 2018.
