Paris Saint-Germain believe they can trump Italy in the race for Chelsea boss Antonio Conte by offering him a bumper pay day.

Speculation has intensified that Conte will leave Stamford Bridge this summer after two years in charge.

Italy are reportedly keen to appoint the 48-year-old for a second time. Conte was manager of his national side for two years before leaving the role after Euro 2016 - where Italy were beaten on penalties by Germany in the quater-finals.

However, according to L’Equipe, the Azzurri are about to be blown out of the water by PSG.

The French giants want to appoint Conte too and they have already made preliminary contact with his agent.

PSG can reportedly offer Conte a far bigger salary than on offer from Italy and they hope that will give them the edge too.
