Chelsea and Manchester United have been put on red alert after Gremio star Arthur’s move to Barcelona collapsed.
The Brazilian midfielder had looked all set to join the Spanish giants this summer as part of a deal worth around £35million.
But, according to Marca, the move is now off after negotiations broke down over the transfer fee.
It is reported that Barcelona failed to meet Arthur’s wage demands and the fee offered to Gremio was around £10m less than they wanted.
That news will no doubt interest both Chelsea and Manchester United, who have scouted the midfielder in the past.
The Premier League pair had given up hope of landing the 21-year-old, though, as he seemingly had his heart set on joining Barca.
But now Chelsea and Manchester United have been given a second chance to sign the highly-rated youngster.
