Eden Hazard is stalling on signing a new Chelsea contract – because he wants to join Real Madrid .
Reports in the Daily Mail claim the Belgian ace is holding off on penning new terms with the Premier League giants as he is hoping Real will launch a bid to sign him in the summer.
Hazard cut a frustrated figure as Chelsea suffered a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.
He even spoke out about manager Antonio Conte’s tactics following the game, admitting the Blues were too negative against Pep Guardiola’s side.
And those comments have ramped up speculation he could be set to leave in the summer.
Real Madrid are long-term admirers of Hazard and the forward has spoken of his admiration for childhood hero Zinedine Zidane in the past.
However, it is claimed their chances of landing Chelsea’s star forward could depend on Zindane’s future.
The Spanish giants have endured a frustrated season, with Real currently third in the table and 15 points behind LaLiga leaders Barcelona.
A poor league campaign is usually enough to earn the Real manager the sack, but it is believed the fans and board will stick by their legendary former midfielder, meaning a move to sign Hazard at the end of the season is highly likely.
