Former Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov has hit out at Kerala Blasters coach David James , calling him the ‘worst coach ever’.

Berbatov is currently plying his trade in the Indian Super League, but his team finished in sixth – meaning they did not make the play-offs.

And on his Instagram story, the former Man United and Fulham striker vented his frustration at coach David James.

Sitting on board a plane, Berbatov wrote: '#worstwannabecoachever #worsttacticaladvice.

'ChipTheBallToStrikersChestAndWeTakeItFromThere/WTF/WhoPlayLikeThis.

'#seasonfinished #timetogohome.'

The former Liverpool and Aston Villa shot-stopper took over from Rene Meulensteen at the beginning of January following a disappointing start to the season.

Results improved under James after joining with the Blasters sitting eighth in the table on seven points from seven games, but they were unable to make the play-offs.
