Barcelona are closing in on the signing of Antoine Griezmann with reports claiming he has an ‘agreement’ to join the Camp Nou club this summer.

Griezmann, the France forward, was expected to leave Atletico Madrid prior to the start of this season, with Barca and Manchester United two of the interested parties.

However, he committed his future to Atleti in June 2017, penning a one-year contract extension that took his deal to the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

But that deal seems to have only pushed Griezmann’s departure back by one year, with Esport3 reporting saying the 26-year-old has already reached an agreement to join Barcelona this summer.

Ernesto Valverde, the Barca head coach, is a big fan of the France forward, and he will trigger Griezmann’s €100m (£87.9m) release clause when the transfer window opens in July.
