Ray Parlour has picked his London XI South XI to take on the North, after Romelu Lukaku called for the Premier League to stage an ‘All-Stars’ clash for fans.
The Manchester United striker posted on Twitter on Monday that he wants to see the English top-flight mimic basketball and pit the Premier League’s best players against each other in an epic battle of North v South.
Here’s an idea for you guys... the nba has all-star game! Don’t you guys think we should organise one in the @premierleague .. The north vs the south! And the fans vote... what do you guys think? @premierleague @FA — R.Lukaku Bolingoli9 (@RomeluLukaku9) February 26, 2018
Every February, the basketball season takes a break for the ‘All-Star Weekend’, which centres on an exhibition game between the best players from the NBA’s two leagues – the Western Conference and Eastern Conference – with the proceeds going to charity.
Hoops fan Lukaku wants to see the Premier League’s top stars to go head-to-head in the same way, and who better to pick his South XI than the Romford Pele himself.
