Joel Campbell wants to stay at Real Betis , and does not want to return to parent club Arsenal .
The Costa Rica international is currently on loan at the Spanish club after appearing to be out of favour at the Emirates.
The 25-year-old joined Arsenal in 2011 from Deportivo Saprissa, but he is now on his sixth loan spell.
Campbell is at Betis until the end of the season and it is the second time he has been sent out on loan there.
And now the forward is hoping the move could be made permanent in the summer.
“My idea is to stay here for many years but those decisions are not mine,” Campbell told Radio Marca Sevilla .
“I have been lucky enough to enjoy lots of different clubs and leagues but I like it here.”
Campbell has not played since October due to an ankle injury, but he is now ready to return to action.
“I’m training with all my teammates and at the same level,” Campbell added.
“I have not played for a long time and I must go step by step, to keep working hard and not to become frustrated.”
The Costa Rican has scored just three goals in 23 games for the Gunners.
