English teen talent Ryan Sessegnon has been in thrilling form for Fulham this seasons as the Cottagers attempt to win promotion back to the Premier League .
Currently sitting in the play-off spots, Slavisa Jokanovic’s side have been tremendous overall, comprehensively beating title favourites Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 on Saturday.
Sessegnon was again in glittering form and nabbed his 13 th goal of the league campaign, using his pace to capitalise on a snoozing Wolves defence and prod home a parried Aleksandar Mitrovic shot.
It’s a goal which has a very familiar feel, with the youngster showing excellent anticipation and movement in the penalty area, always on his toes and ready to pounce on errors.
This makes the left-sided star, who is looking at home in a role on the wing rather than at full-back, a constant threat for both right-backs and central defenders, should they lose concentration.
And his ability to strike at the right moment sees Sessegnon with the second best shot conversion in the Championship, out of the players who have scored a minimum 10 goals.
Not only this, Sessegnon is also Fulham’s top scorer, and he's scored his 13 goals from just 16 shots on target.
And now, having scored nine goals since the turn of the year, no other player in English football has more league goals than him, although Sergio Aguero, the Manchester City forward, also has nine.
It’s extraordinary for a 17-year-old and shows he’s justifying the hype which is surrounding him right now.
And while supporters in west London are thrilled by his performances there may be a creeping concern about how long they will hold onto the England youth international, with Manchester United , Tottenham, and Liverpool all linked with his signature.
But for the moment, his future is better spent with Fulham where he is adapting brilliantly to his role in attack.
