It's hotting up in the Championship and Dan Windle , host of The 72 on talkSPORT 2 , was at the Cardiff City Stadium to see Neil Warnock's battlers fight their way into the second automatic promotion spot. It was this and a couple of other points Dan spoke to talkSPORT.com about.

Cardiff a find way Cardiff beat Bristol City 1-0 to move into second in the Championship. It wasn’t pretty, but manager Neil Warnock won’t care. “It was such a scrappy game, it never really got going, but Cardiff found a way,” Dan said, adding that the Welsh club were nowhere near their best. But will they actually go up? “They’re four points clear of [Aston] Villa and it’s in their hands at the moment,” he added.

Anything can happen with Fulham "They didn’t just beat Wolves, they comprehensively beat them which no one has really done this season," Dan said in reference to the 2-0 win at Craven Cottage. "In Tom Cairney and Ryan Sessegnon, Fulham have the best two talents in the Championship and anything can happen with them.” Tottenham and Man United have been linked with the 17-year-old Sessegnon, but he could be advised to continue developing at Fulham, especially if they win promotion to the Premier League . “Slavisa Jokanovic has played him further forward on the left and it’s bringing best out of him.”

Plymouth in League One At the start of December, Plymouth were rock bottom of League One but, fast forward three months, and they are in the play-off positions, having won 11 of 15 games. “They used eight goalkeepers in the first few months of the season, but since November no one has laid a glove on them,” Dan explained. “ Derek Adams told us on talkSPORT 2 they weren’t panicking back then and look what’s happened since.” Adams, who has been manager since 2015, clearly relishes the challenges working within a tight budget brings, while stability plays its part, too. "He has the trust of the owner,” according to Dan.

Listen to The 72 on talkSPORT 2 at 4pm on Monday 26 February where Dan is joined by Chris Iwelumo and Reading midfielder David Edwards.
