Liverpool are lining up Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as a shock replacement for Emre Can, according to reports in his native Nigeria .
Can is into the final few months of his contract at Anfield and he is still no closer to signing an extension.
It means the Germany international can leave for free in the summer and he is reportedly set to join Juventus .
Liverpool would then need to bolster their midfield and, according to Nigerian newspaper New Telegraph, they are looking at Ndidi.
The 21-year-old has shone ever since he joined Leicester from Genk in January 2017 for a reported £17million.
The Nigeria international has become a regular for the Foxes and are said to value him at £50million.
