Michy Batshuayi has officially scored more goals this season than Alvaro Morata.
The Belgian, on loan from Chelsea at Borussia Dortmund, netted his 13th goal of the season in all competitions during the Bundesliga club's 2-0 home win against Hamburg on Saturday.
Morata has managed 12 goals for the Blues since his £58 million move from Real Madrid last summer.
In addition to allowing Batshuayi to leave Stamford Bridge on loan, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte spent £18m to bring Olivier Giroud across London from Arsenal . However, the Italian may be regretting that decision.
Three days before being smashed 4-1 by Watford , Chelsea fans had to watch as Batshuayi has flourished.
And since Morata last scored a goal - against Brighton on Boxing Day - Batshuayi has scored three times for Chelsea (one against Norwich and two against Newcastle), scored twice and got an assist on his Dortmund debut against Cologne in February and added another goal against Hamburg.
It has been a complete upturn in fortune for the former Marseille man, who was clearly lacking in confidence in England.
Meanwhile, things have gone from bad to worse for Morata at Stamford Bridge.
After Conte admitted he did not know how long the striker would be injured for , Morata admitted he could be tempted by a move back to Real Madrid.
He told a Spanish chat show it would be ‘very hard’ to turn down a move back to Madrid to sign for his boyhood club for a third time.
