Thomas Christiansen has paid tribute to Leeds' fans after his sacking last Sunday.
The Dane was dismissed after the 4-1 loss to Cardiff - Leeds' seventh game without a win - and was replaced by Paul Heckingbottom.
It was a sour end for Christiansen, the former Barcelona striker who arrived at Elland Road as an unknown last summer and topped the Championship before things went awry.
"I did not want to leave without saying goodbye to you, the fans," he wrote on Twitter.
"You are the most previous treasure of this wonderful football club. Managers, players, directors and presidents may change, but you are the ones who remain, together and united.
"Your passion and requirement just symbolises your strength."
